Today is the 23/12/09… this is my last day of working for OLLA. I have enjoyed every second that i have been working for OLLA. This company has a positive spirit, they have very nice and fun people working in the company. I enjoyed being a part of the team. Today i finished the captivate files and it was time to go home. Before going everyone reflected on my experience at the company, i got nice feed backs from everyone. I was amazed how fast the 15 days went by, i just didn’t want to leave. Thank you very much for everything you have done ICT achievers. This opportunity has set me up for life. I am now certain of what i want to be when i leave school. Also big thank you to online learning group. you are a bunch of amazing people, thank you for having me and hopefully we will see each other again =)

In the morning the project manager gave me feed back on all of my work, and also sent me the correction of the work that i did for the water plant company. They just wanted me to label the exits and entrances an overall everything was perfect. I was happy and proud with the job i did. after the correction i went back to doing captivate stuff for HBA. This will take me at least another day to do. That will be the time where i have to say goodbye to everyone. Everything will be finished from my side when i leave. so tomorrow i just need to finish it off and i will be finished.

Today is Friday, I just got assigned to do anotehr map for the same company as yesterday(i forgot the name). While i am waiting for the other one to be corrected i started on the next project. They wanted me to draw another map of their water plant from another location. I finished the map today and i am still waiting for the corrections. If i don’t receive them tomorrow then i will be going on with my captivate files.

17/12/09

As usual i came into the office, switched the computer on and waited for it to load. While the computer was loading i went over to see Jacqui, to see if there is anything i can do to help with. She told me that she wants me to help out with the project for a water plant company that want their map to be redrawn into illustrator. I was on it right away. The images that i had to retrace were from a satelite point of view so they were blurry and hard to see. I just had to do my best. I knew my way around illustrator because i have studied it in the past, so that wasn’t a challenge. The challenge in this case was to not get anything wrong or out of place. I completed this map today and just had to wait for it to be sent to the client for correction. This took me the whole day.

On Tuesday i couldn’t make it to the placement because i felt ill. Today is wednesday the 16/12/09. One of the employees left to go on a holiday which meant that i am able to work on his computer. I used captivate to produce a tutorial for HBA. Then i was given a task to make the next part of the tutorial for HBA, which involved deleting and editing slides and then making them interactive.  I spent the whole day on this task because there were a lot of slides that needed to be edited. Tomorrow i have to check them and see if there are any errors that i need to fix.

14/12/09

This is my last week that i will get to come into the office. I came in with greeting from every one as always. While i was gone they hired a new person and for today everything was all over the place. They wanted me to do work but on the other hand they didn’t want to kick any one off the computers. I was taken through a tutorial of how to use CodeBaby in case i forgot any of it. I straight away rem,embered everything and soon, they were able to find me a computer and get me to work on one of the HBA projects.for the rest of the day i just worked on the project.

Today is my last day for a while of working here. Oh no. not back to school again. People have messaged me saying that if they were me they wouldn’t be able to handle having no holidays for two weeks. This was a great opportunity and i spent two weeks experiencing what i would later on in life. I become way more independant and i have learnt so much just in these 9 days. So my reply was to all of the messages i got was simply “this isnt bad at all, i am enjoying working and this is like a vacation for me” I didnt relax for even a bit i was working really hard for these two weeks, but i enjoyed doing what i was asked to do and to keep my motivation to keep on working. The people in this office have influenced me and inspired me to achieve more. I have a desire to study more, to know more and to keep doing what i do the best. It has been a pleasure to work with these people. Today i just refined all of the slides and fixed up errors. I was happy with all of my work that i have done in this past week. Instead of being a lazy slob and sitting there complaining of boredom i am actually out doing something that i enjoy. This was an amazing experience. Looking foward to the next holidays which will be when i will work next.

Today is thursday and i am still working on the captivate file. I am just putting in all the animation. The animation has to be spread out evenly through out the whole slide. and we dont want the animation to be the same for the next 6 slides, because the viewer will get bored. So i had to place the robots somewhere diffrently on the page and i had to insert diffrent types of robots on the page. This was nothing new to me i have done this before. It took me all day to go through all of the slides and put everything in place. At the end of the day i started to check the overall product to see if there are faults. If there were any i went back and fixed it up.

30/09/09

Wednesday has come so fast. Today first thing in the morning i am getting a visit from the ICT achievers agents. They just wanted to check up on me and my progress and how i am enjoying the work i am doing. After that i just went back to finishing captivate files. I am a few slides from being finished. tomorrow i am going to recheck everything and go over all the errors i have made on the pages. During the day i had to do little jobs like uploading CodeBaby files and exporting them and doing what i did in the first week. Tomorrow all i have to do is import the animation into the files and then i will be done with this project.

29/09/09

Today i just went on with the work i was given yesterday. So nothing special. Phoebe left on friday so if i needed help i would have to ask someone else. I was confident all day that i dont need any help. Everything i was doing i was comparing to my previous work and previous work done by others. Everything seems to be matching up and seems to be fine. One of the employees just told me that i need to put the animation of a robot somewhere near corners or lines. This is done so the little robot animation doesnt look like it is just sliding out of nowhere. It will look more professional when it is sliding out of the line or the corner of the page.

This was one of the advice given to me. Straight away i fixed everything that needed to be refixed. I tested the pages that i have already done. With a fresh look on the work that i’ve done it becomes much more clear to see my mistakes. Due to me being tired the day before i had a few mistakes. I fixed them straight away and went onto doing the rest of the slides.
